Scottish Water thanks customers for help saving water

Scottish Water wants to thank local people in the Western Isles and Skye for their recent help conserving water supplies as the area continues to experience an unprecedented dry spell. The utility firm is reminding customers to continue using water wisely and Scottish Water is continuing to monitor various supplies. While rainfall in recent days has been welcome, it is not enough to bring water sources back to normal levels this time of year. Scottish Water is paying close attention to water resources which supply the following areas: Portree, Broadford and Kyle of Lochalsh (Skye and Lochalsh); Stornoway, West Lewis, South Uist, Lochmaddy, Benbecula and Tolsta (Western Isles). Allan welcomes outcome of talks on Western Isles prawn fishery

SNP MSP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Alasdair Allan, has welcomed the “very positive” outcome of this week’s talks between the west coast prawn fishing industry and the Scottish Government, which have resulted in a temporary ban on east coast prawn vessels in large parts of the West Coast.
