Six people were caught drink driving over the weekend. A POLICE chief has expressed his disappointment after six people were caught drink driving over the weekend across the Highlands. Five men, including one in the Western Isles, and one woman were held in custody until today. White out conditions in Inverness this morning WHITE out conditions across the Highlands left commuters facing travel disruption this morning. Widespread sub-zero road conditions and lying snow meant difficult and icy driving conditions. Inverness man accused of murdering Western Isles teenager

Liam Aitchison - found dead in a derelict property. AN Inverness man is to stand trial charged with the murder of a teenage boy in the Western Isles. Stefan Millar (21) appeared in the dock at a preliminary hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today. Millar of Dunabban Road, Inverness, is accused of killing 16-year-old Liam Aitchison at a property in the Steinish area of the Isle Lewis on November 23 last year. Also charged with murder is Elgin man Johnathan MacKinnon (22). It is claimed the teenager was repeatedly struck on the head and body with a knife and bottle. Millar and MacKinnon are also said to have kicked and stamped on Liam’s head. Judge Lord Bracadale set a trial date for February next year. The case is expected to last around three weeks.
