Mundell to raise tugboat concerns
21 March 2012 Last updated at 09:45 The grounding of the Flinterspirit led to a tug being sent to the Minch from Orkney Scotland Office minister David Mundell has said some form of emergency cover is needed for west Scotland after a cargo vessel ran aground on Monday. The MV Flinderspirit became stuck on a small island off North Uist on its way from Sweden to Belfast. A coastguard tug was sent to the scene from Orkney as a precaution because the local tug had been withdrawn from duty on Saturday after funding for it ended.
