‘Local policing will continue’

George Graham said he was also confident that this approach would survive in an increasingly challenging financial climate. Northern covers the Highlands, Western Isles and Northern Isles. Another bin may be on the way to Inverness households

RESIDENTS and businesses in Inverness are to get yet another recycling bin, this time for food waste, but a veteran councillor has predicted deep public hostility to the introduction of the “absolutely ridiculous” new service. The recycling revolution in the Highlands, which has extended to paper, plastic, card and garden waste in recent years, is to be extended to discarded foodstuffs of all types in the city.
