On Wednesday 22nd May the Castlebay Area Office will be closed as a result of a power outage. Castlebay School is closed due to weather conditions. Lionacleit School is closed to Pupils but open to Staff, exams to run tomorrow. Iochdar closed to Pupils as there are no buses running today.

Disruption to Bus services – 28 December 2012

Due to the forecast of gale force winds increasing in strength on Friday 28th December the last public bus services departing Stornoway Bus Station will be as follows: 18.00 – Ness and Westside and South Lochs 18.05 – Tolsta, Back, Bayble & Flesherin 18.10 – North Lochs There will be no evening services to and from Stornoway after 18.10. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused.

Flood Alert issued for Western Isles – 22 December 2012

Subject: A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Western Isles. A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Western Isles. Heavy rain has affected the area during today and will continue overnight. Further heavy rain is also forecast for Sunday morning, particularly over northern parts of the Western Isles, including Lewis. Rivers and rapidly responding watercourses are expected to respond. There may also be localised disruption due to surface water flooding. SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates here as necessary.
