An opportunity has arisen to manage Renfrewshire Council’s Youth Employability Service Team. The service is a key element of the Renfrewshire Employability Partnership Programme (REPP) which provides support and development to young unemployed people in Renfrewshire (16-24) with multiple barriers to employment.
You will be responsible for managing a team of employability key workers and for the management of the Youth Employability Centre, based in Gauze Street in Paisley.
You must have a degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline or have evidence of extensive experiential learning in a related setting; have experience of supporting young people; have management experience; have excellent organisational, communication, performance management and IT skills; have the ability to work using own initiative; empathise with young people and work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of other agencies in order to deliver an excellent client focused service.
This post is temporary until 31 March 2013.
This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
