Phone provider TalkTalk has unveiled plans to create 25 new jobs in Stornoway.
The phone and internet provider says the move is part of efforts to simplify its operation and build on improvements to customer service.
The news also comes ahead of plans to launch the new YouView TV service later this year.
Existing teams in Stornoway will also be “upskilled”, and salaries reviewed, a spokesman said.
Stornoway councillor Angus Campbell said: “This is good news for the Western Isles and I congratulate Talk Talk.
“Twenty-five new jobs are most welcome as is the upgrading of the employees which should bring them greater rewards both in terms of job satisfaction and financially.”
