A new air link between Scotland and Yorkshire is set to boost island communities. Loganair has stepped in to provide services between Glasgow and Leeds Bradford airports following the decision by bmi to withdraw from the long running route. The new flights are conveniently timed to allow connections via Glasgow between Scotland’s island destinations including Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Tiree, Barra and Benbecula – all operated by HIAL. The Flybe franchise carrier will launch its new service from Tuesday 8 May, operating two flights each weekday.
