The man was knocked down on the A858, Carloway to Callanish Road, at KirivickA man has been knocked over and left at the side of a road on the Isle of Lewis in what is thought to have been a hit-and-run.
The 59-year-old man is recovering in the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway after being struck by a vehicle at about 19:00 on Friday.
The incident happened on the A858, Carloway to Callanish Road, at Kirivick.
Police investigating the incident are urging witnesses to come forward.
A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: “Police at Stornoway would like to hear from any person who was travelling in the area between 18:45 and 19:15, or may have information regarding the incident.”
He added that the man’s condition was not thought to be life threatening.
