Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP Angus MacNeil, attended a debate in Westminster Hall today (Tuesday 14 June) on the Coastguard service and coordination with emergency service. Bill Esterson MP for Sefton Central, secured the debate and Angus MacNeil participated. Speaking after the debate Angus MacNeil said: ‘I raised the issue of the Emergency Towing Vessels (ETVs), other nations such as Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands are serious about Maritime safety, and I stressed again the importance of retaining the ETVs. ‘This debate brought about further evidence from Sheryll Murray MP for South East Cornwall, someone who we all admire for her courage in speaking at this debate, following the recent bereavement of her husband.
