Street lights are to be switched off across the Western Isles to help the islands’ local authority save money and reduce CO2 emissions.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar said the move followed feedback from communities and was in line with similar schemes run by other councils.
Streets lights are already operated on reduced hours on Lewis, though parts of Stornoway remain lit all night.
Highland Council has also sought to cut costs by turning off street lamps.
