NAMES of the lucky few who will have the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch through Inverness in June were revealed today.
Sandra Ross from Nairn and Lorna Smith and Moyra Brook from Inverness, have been chosen to take part in the Olympic Torch Relay which will begin from Glenurquhart Road on Saturday the 9th June and will continue through Kenneth Street, Chapel Street, Friars Lane, Bank Street, Young Street, Ness Walk and Bishops Road before finishing at the Northern Meeting Park where a celebratory concert will be held.
The torch will also visit the Western Isles on Sunday 10th June before another relay leaves Inverness Castle on Monday 11th June with Lee Macdonald from Inverness as one of the torchbearers.
Over 7,300 inspiring torchbearers have now been confirmed and the remaining torchbearers will be announced over the coming months.
