The part time post will be based across all venues within the service.
Renfrewshire Council’s Arts and Museums Service manages, Paisley Arts Centre, Paisley Town Hall, Paisley Museum Complex, Renfrew Town Hall, Johnston Town Hall and Renfrew Community Museum. In line with its commitment to providing excellent customer service, the Arts and Museums Service is looking to appoint Customer Services Supervisors to join the team.
You will be responsible for implementing health and safety policies and procedures and ensuring the best possible customer care and visitor experience.
You must have experience of working with the public at a supervisory level, ideally in the arts, cultural or hospitality industries; have a working knowledge of public health and safety issues and be a good problem solver. You must also have a working knowledge of ICT office software; excellent communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer care.
A working knowledge of venue security policies and procedures would be an advantage.
This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
Also, this post is subject to the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 and Order 2009 as amended and the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Scotland) Regulations 2006. This means that candidates MUST supply details of any previous criminal convictions even if they are regarded as “spent” under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The full time post hours are 35 per week to be worked Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. The annual salary for working 35 hours per week is £17,356 – £18,980.
