Job Purpose
>> Collate, analyse and interpret information received from various schools and all aspects of EL&L throughout Aberdeenshire, identifying trends, areas of concern and possible areas where improvements could be achieved.
Main Tasks
- Set-up and maintain suitable record systems, that contain all of the collated data received from the ELL Service of Aberdeenshire Council. This covers data for Local, Area, Council-wide and National requirements
- Participate in regular meetings with the team to assess and evaluate the work carried out and receive and take into account any relevant feedback
- With the assistance of the Quality Improvement Officer, decide on the suitable analysis to be carried out, discuss any areas where further investigations are required and discuss any areas of concern
- Carry out the required analysis of data, presenting the results in the most comprehensive and suitable format. This may include the creation, manipulation and interrogation of spreadsheets and databases, leading to production of graphs, charts and tables as appropriate
- Provide standard and individual reports on the analysis to a range of professional and stakeholder audiences, ensuring clarity and accuracy in the information presented
- Through this analysis, identify areas that require more investigation and if required, carry out these investigations
- Determine where the finalised data is to be distributed to, ensuring that all the relevant parties receive the information, in an appropriate format
Experience/Qualifications/Personal Qualities
- Experience and expertise in working with and developing spreadsheet applications and relational databases
- Experience of working with a wide range of statistical and other data sources, involving data collection, collation, analysis and interpretation
- Educated to degree level
- Able to demonstrate expertise, familiarity and confidence in information handling, analysis and interpretation
- Ability to demonstrate familiarity and confidence in use and development of spread sheet applications and relational databases
- Ability to think creatively and to discern trends and potential relationship between data sources, and to initiate research activity using a range of data sources
- Ability to prepare and present reports on data, both of a technical and non-technical nature, tailored, as appropriate, to the audience

Familiarity with types of educational and public sector performance measures and key quality assurance frameworks - Abiltiy to demonstrate a commitment to and competence in quality service delivery through continuous improvement
- Ability to plan, manage and co-ordinate date collection and analysis projects
