Job Description

 

Based in Stornoway, in the Finance & Corporate Resources Department, you will assist with the provision of accounting and financial management services to a range of departments and committees within the Comhairle. Duties include: assistance with budget preparation and monitoring, year end accounts, completion of statutory returns and grant claims.

The Individual

You must have an HND in Accounting, a University degree, or extensive experience of working in an accountancy function covering all aspects of the budgetary cycle. You must understand the basic principles underpinning public sector accounting, be competent in using IT systems, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

This will be a temporary appointment linked to the maternity leave of a member of staff within the Accountancy Section. 

All salaries are inclusive of Islands Allowance.
